Occupational Health and Safety Courses
By law, all companies must have a set number of first fighters per ratio of employees. Qualifying learners can select and use the appropriate firefighting equipment to extinguish or control fires in the workplace.
The First Aid Level 1 training course is designed for learners to the required OHS First Aid skills. This course covers various first aid skills ranging from basic to advanced.
This course is intended to enable the first responder in an emergency to react to health emergencies at an advanced level until the arrival of more qualified emergency personnel.
This Unit Standard will be useful for employees to enable them to provide primary emergency care (first aid) in response to an occupational risk induced or any health emergency in their specific workplaces. Qualifying learners are able to, Demonstrate the principles of primary emergency care, Assess and control a single injury emergency scene in the workplace, Demonstrate primary emergency life support for adults, children and infants, Manage shock, Carry out secondary assessment of the sick or injured person, Provide appropriate primary emergency care at the scene, and Keep records of the incident/accident.
The OHSA Awareness training course is designed for people giving an induction of health and safety principles to new personnel and the person credited with this unit standard is able to explain the duties of both the employees and employers with regard to Occupational Safety and Health in the workplace.
The OHSA Representative course is designed to provide Learners with the basic knowledge & skills to execute their workplace representative duties, as required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
This unit standard will be useful for persons who are required to conduct continuous hazard identification and risk assessment within an underground working place to ensure a healthy and safe environment to work in.
